Protecting the nature isle
Dominica, known as The Nature Isle of the Caribbean, is one of the last truly wild islands in the region, home to lush tropical rainforests, volcanic peaks, pristine rivers, and coral reefs teeming with life. Its rich biodiversity includes rare species found nowhere else on Earth, from the majestic Sisserou parrot to the island’s ancient mountain forests.
Yet this natural treasure faces increasing threats from hurricanes, climate change, deforestation, and coastal erosion. Protecting Dominica means safeguarding one of the planet’s most vibrant ecosystems and the livelihoods, traditions, and future of the people who depend on it.
Wild Dominica Conservancy works to preserve this balance by empowering communities, educating youth, and restoring the landscapes that define the Nature Isle’s resilience and beauty.
Our website is currently being expanded to reflect the depth of our work in conservation, research, and community engagement. While we continue building a robust platform that embodies our mission, explore our Mission and Leadership pages to learn more about who we are and our work. Donate today and help us on our mission to protecting the Nature Isle and the people who call the island home.
